| Notes |
- Calvin Garner's parents - Calvin would have been 4 in 1830. John N. and his son Jeremiah both had males < 5 on the 1830 Census in Wilson County TN. I believe that Calvin Garner is the son of John N. Garner and Susannah Hall. I have no documentation to support this other then the Census. Calvin also named his first son John.
Jeremiah also has 3 males <5 on the 1830 Census but only one 10 - 15 on the 1840 Census with Fanny. On the 1840 Census Jeremiah's widow Fanny has only one male 10 - 15 which would be Evan, born in 1828 (Calvin would have been 14).
Some have Jeremiah as Calvin's father however - Jeremiah's children Evan and Martha were indentured to Edward S. White on 25 Dec 1837. Albert was indentured 5 Sept 1837 to William H. H. Barnes. The probate records book B page 125 shows there were only 4 minor heirs of Jeremiah so Andrew must have stayed with Fanny as he was only abt 4 in 1837. Two of the males < 5 on the 1830 Census with Jeremiah must have died prior to the 1837 probate.

"The Kinmundy Express" - Kinmundy, Illinois July 11, 1884:
- There was a very pleasant reunion of the GARNER family in this city last Monday. At supper there were 33 present, which included all the children, grandchildren, and "children-in-law", except one daughter who is in San Rosa, Cal. It is said by those present that it was the happiest occasion of Uncle Calvin's life when they all got seated around the table to partake ______________. Note: San Rosa, CA does not exist, there is a Santa Rosa County and 2 Santa Rosa Cities in the Counties of Riverside and Sonoma. I checked an 1884 listing of Towns and Counties and the only one that existed in 1884 is Santa Rosa in Sonoma County. CA.
